Håkon VII of Norway
Håkon VII (Norwegian Haakon VII), born as Christian Frederik Carl Georg Valdemar Axel August 3, 1872 at the Charlottenlund Palace in Gentofte, Zealand, Denmark, died on September 21, 1957 in Oslo, Norway; King of Norway 1905-1957.
Prince Carl of Denmark, whom he was called before being elected to Norwegian king, was born as a son of Fredrik VIII of Denmark and Lovisa of Sweden, and was a brother of Kristian X of Denmark. He belonged to the house Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, a branch of the Oldenburg house. He was through Karl XV's daughter Louise of Sweden (Queen of Denmark) engaged in King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden.
