George Hevesy, originally Hevesy György, born August 1, 1885 in Budapest, died July 5, 1966 in Freiburg im Breisgau, was a Hungarian-Swedish chemist who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1943. He developed methods for following metabolism in living organisms using radioactive isotopes of the elements that occur naturally in the organisms. As a result, he became a founder of the radio seminar.
